Our Story

Nest is owned and run by Claire Nash from their family farm in rural Galloway, South West Scotland.

Claire is 'living the dream' by popping-up with Nest in a gorgeous wooden hut in Wigtown a couple of days a week, working part-time as a baker, helping on the farm at home and renovating a lovely old cottage to become a shop and upstairs flat.

With a slightly slower pace of life during the pandemic (whilst Claire was a Commercial Manager), it allowed her more time to indulge in her passions of interiors and gardening and the idea of Nest was born. Claire spent much time researching suppliers and carefully curated a selection of quality and affordable home and garden wares to sell. She assisted with the conversion of part of their farm steading into a photography studio/office/storage space, which has become known as 'The Nesting Shed'.

Claire's eldest daughter Emily, who is an artist, designed the graphics and branding for Nest, much of which is centred around a wee wren which started off as a beautiful drawing (more about that over on the About Nest page). As a keen photographer, Emily has taken the majority of the lifestyle images on the site, either on the farm, at home or in The Nesting Shed and we hope that they will inspire you to feather your nest.
